ABTUS-BVOTS (Association Belge des Techniques et de l’Urbanisme Souterrains – Belgische Vereniging voor Ondergrondse Technieken en Stedebouw) is a non-profit organisation dedicated to promoting underground solutions for infrastructure challenges in Belgium. We actively engage in organising seminars, site visits, and collaborative events to foster knowledge exchange and advance tunnelling practices.

Its interest goes to all sectors of science and technique linked with design of tunnels and underground works, construction techniques (e.g. immersed tunnels, bored tunnels, cut & cover tunnels, …) incl. specific equipment, project financing, asset management and maintenance, tunnel technical installations, town planning and promotion of Underground Space solutions, and more generally their technical, safety, sustainable & environmental, innovative, contractual and administrative aspects, as well as economic and social issues.

We represent Belgium in ITA-AITES (International Tunnelling and Underground Space Association) and EUTF (European Underground and Tunnelling Forum).

ABTUS-BVOTS is also promoting Belgian tunnelling know-how and expertise internationally and will have the privilege to organise the ITA World Tunnel Congress WTC 2027 in Antwerp.

ABTUS-BVOTS will celebrate its 50 years of existence in 2027.
